Rock bottom will teach you more lessons that mountain tops never will.

This will preach right here!! God allows us to reach rock bottom sometimes so we can see that with Him we have a sure foundation. Sometimes He allows us to reach rock bottom because that is the only place from which we will look up and look to Him. I heard my uncle preach before when my cousin was caught in drug addiction as a teenager that he asked the Lord to bring him back no matter the cost. What he was saying was for the Lord to take him to rock bottom if that is what it was going to take for him to surrender his life to Lord. There were moments in those days my cousin would be facing something and we would think “surely this is rock bottom” but something else would happen. We don’t know where rock bottom is for other people and it is a different place for each person. Don’t pray that prayer for a loved one unless you’re serious because you have to watch them hit that rock bottom and your faith needs to be secure so you can help them walk through it. Rest assured that whenever you or a loved one hit rock bottom, the Lord is always there with you and just as Psalm 40 speaks of, He will lift you out of the miry clay!! God is faithful!! And yes my cousin did come back to the fold! There are lessons to be learned at rock bottom that you will never learn on the mountain top or anywhere else!! Be encouraged today if you are at rock bottom because as you look to the Lord, He will guide you out at the right time – in His time. Praise Him for what you’re learning through these moments!! Seek the Living Water through the rock bottom and you will grow!!

I waited patiently for the Lord; and he inclined unto me, and heard my cry.

He brought me up also out of an horrible pit, out of the miry clay, and set my feet upon a rock, and established my goings.

And he hath put a new song in my mouth, even praise unto our God: many shall see it, and fear, and shall trust in the Lord.

Blessed is that man that maketh the Lord his trust, and respecteth not the proud, nor such as turn aside to lies. Psalm 40:1-4 KJV
