Even So Come (A Free Devotional from Reflections of God’s Grace)

I love this new song by Passion, featuring Kristian Stanfill, “Even So Come.” It reminds me that Christ’s appearing is coming soon. It challenges me, actually, to search my heart. Is this my cry today? Am I truly ready for Christ to return? Is my heart pure and holy before Him? Am I living out the faith that He would be pleased with? Have I been diligent in His call on my life? Am I living in such a way that I will be blameless through Christ’s righteousness? If my answer to any of these questions is no, then I need to seek God’s forgiveness and ask Him to shine His light in my life that I may see where I need to change. Then I will be able to proclaim, “Even so come!” Whether I am ready or not, Christ is returning, and based on the shape the world is in, I believe it is sooner than we think. If you don’t have a personal relationship with Him today, I encourage you to answer His call!

He which testifieth these things saith, Surely I come quickly. Amen. Even so, come, Lord Jesus. (Revelation 22:20)

And at midnight, there was a cry made, Behold the bridegroom cometh. Go ye out to meet him. (Matthew 25:6)

But of the times and the seasons, brethren, ye have no need that I write unto you, for yourselves know perfectly that the day of the Lord so cometh as a thief in the night … But ye brethren are not in darkness that that day should overtake you as a thief … therefore let us not sleep as do others, but let us watch and be sober. (1 Thessalonians 5:1–2, 4, 6)

But the end of all things is at hand. Be ye therefore sober and watch unto prayer. (1 Peter 4:7)

But of that day and hour knoweth no man, no, not the angels which are in heaven, neither the Son, but the Father. Take ye heed, watch and pray, for ye know not when the time is. For the Son of man is as a man taking a far journey who left his house, and gave authority to his servants and to every man his work and commanded the porter to watch. Watch ye therefore, for ye know not when the master of the house cometh, at even, or at midnight, or at the cockcrowing, or in the morning, lest coming suddenly, he find you
sleeping. And what I say unto you, I say unto all, Watch. (Mark 13:32–37)

Wherefore the rather, brethren, give diligence to make your calling and election sure, for if ye do these things [fruit of the Spirit, verses 1–9], ye shall never fall. (2 Peter 1:10)

As for me and my house, we will serve the Lord. (Joshua 24:15)

And the very God of peace sanctify you wholly, and I pray God your whole spirit and soul and body be preserved blameless unto the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. (1 Thessalonians 5:23)
