Thirty Days of Thanks – Day 18

Day 18 of Thanksgiving

Today I am thankful for God’s faithfulness to me even though I haven’t always been faithful to Him. There have been times when He asked me to do something that I either waited until it was convenient for me or I ignored Him completely. There have been times when I turned my attention elsewhere and focused on other things instead of following Him. There have been times when I did not spend time in prayer or studying His Word. Even through the times I am not faithful to Him, He is still faithful to me. When I call upon Him in repentance, He is faithful to forgive me (I John 1:9). When I call upon Him in trouble, He is faithful to help me (Psalm 46:1). When I call upon Him in sickness, He is faithful to heal (Psalm 103:3). When I call upon Him in sorrow, He is faithful to comfort (Psalm 94:19). Never once has He forsaken me. I am so glad today that His faithfulness does not depend on my faithfulness, but His faithfulness is a reflection of His character.

Deuteronomy 7:9 Know therefore that the LORD thy God, he is God, the faithful God, which keepeth covenant and mercy with them that love him and keep his commandments to a thousand generations.

Psalm 89:1 I will sing of the mercies of the LORD forever, with my mouth will I make known thy faithfulness to all generations.

Revelation 19:11 And I saw heaven opened, and behold a white horse, and he that sat upon Him was called Faithful and True, and in righteousness he doth judge and make war.
