Thirty Days of Thanks – Day 20

Day 20 of Thanksgiving

Today I am thankful for a sweet ministry Truth Be Told Art that is very dear to my heart. The first party I attended was about five or six years ago. I am not a painter and doing the little squiggly lines inside of a paisley stressed me out! Thankfully my best friend Elicia Gordy was also at that party and painted them for me. 🙌🏻.

Fast forward a couple of years, I encouraged Elicia to reach out to Elizabeth Bass Hilliard about becoming the artist for the Columbus area. I even messaged Elizabeth (I had this picture taken with her last weekend at Mistletoe Market) myself bragging on Elicia and how I knew she would be a great asset in this ministry. In April 2014, Elicia was launched as the newest TBTA artist, and I had the pleasure of hosting her launch party.

Since that time, I have attended parties to paint, to help Elicia with 60+ painter parties, to babysit her precious angel, and I’ve hosted a party each month for 3+ years at Midtown Coffeehouse. This ministry is so much more than just painting a pretty picture on a canvas.
Through this ministry, I have met wonderful people who have become some of my closest friends!! It’s even more than that! This ministry helps me fulfill Scripture — I’m able to put God’s Truth on my walls!! I’m reminded of God’s Truth when I walk in every room of my house. It gives me strength and comfort!

I recently had some work done at my house and the contractor sent me this text which filled my eyes with tears. I shared it with the Elizabeth that day as well. If it weren’t for her obedience to God’s calling on her life, none of this would be possible.

“It was a blessing to me and the painters to read all of the verses and quotes on the walls. This opened doors once again for me to be able to fertilize the seeds of the gospel that have been planted. Thanks again for the opportunity to serve you.”

That is the heart of this ministry and I pray for God’s blessing on it, for Him to continue to give Elizabeth and the other artists vision and design ideas that will inspire others and encourage them in the faith!”

“Therefore shall ye lay up these my words in your heart and in your soul, and bind them for a sign upon your hand, that they may be as frontlets between your eyes. And ye shall teach them your children, speaking of them when thou sittest in thine house, and when thou walkest by the way, when thou liest down, and when thou risest up. And thou shalt write them upon the door posts of thine house, and upon thy gates:”
‭‭Deuteronomy‬ ‭11:18-20‬ ‭KJV
