“What’s Next Papa?”
I heard Pat Schatzline challenge all of us in our church service after convention to pray that prayer. Then tonight as I was leading a new Bible study, I heard this on the video teaching by Christine Caine “Ask God ‘What’s next for me?'” So that reminds me of a verse in 2 Corinthians 13:1b “In the mouth of two or three witnesses shall every word be established.” I am listening, Father, and I am taking this prayer to heart.
There was so much goodness in this study tonight and just re-iterates a lot of what I’ve already been learning through coaching, personal development and Bible studies lately. God does not call the equipped — He equips the called. His invitation to “What’s Next” will oftentimes be something that stretches you outside your current capacity and ability, but the beautiful thing is that God isn’t looking for your ability. He is only looking for your availability and your willingness to step out of your comfort zone and into a trusting zone. Do you trust Him tonight? Something else Christine said tonight that I thought was so powerful is this — “Replace what we do not know about the future (aka fear of the unknown) with what we do know about God!” What if we walked with that truth tucked deep in our hearts and minds???? We don’t have to fear the unknown ahead because we know that God is good and He will walk with us through every door He opens.
We aren’t in this alone. Joshua 1:9 says that we can have courage because He is with us wherever we go.
In our coaching, we call that ‘kicking fear in the face’ by taking action and doing things despite our fear. God is looking for your answer YES of faith not your NO of doubt. We also have to realize that living a life of faith is living a life of risk, but the risk is so worth it. We have to realize that it isn’t our reputation on the line, but it is God’s. He called us to this and He will give us what we need to accomplish it. Philippians 1:6 tells me that He is faithful to complete the work in me until my time on earth is over!! I can put my trust in that even when it seems like God is calling me to something bigger than I can do, which is every time lol. He has never failed to increase my capacity when He has called me to step out in faith. I have to put the work in to grow myself and my faith, but He meets me right there and gives the increase!!
I ask you tonight — will you ask God for what’s next???
