“The decisions we make, make the life we live, So if we want to live better, we’ve got to decide better. Yes βœ…. No ❌. The two most powerful words in the English language. They can run us if we don’t intentionally run them. Guard them. Guide them. Use yes and no to work for us. Can you imagine how great life would be if you didn’t dread saying yes and felt completely empowered to say no? Then and only then will our best selves emerge. And maybe you and I can start to be a little less frantic. ‘Dear Lord, I want to be described as a woman who says yes to You and to the assignments You have called me to. Help me to discern what those are today. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.'” — Lysa TerKeurst

I read that this morning in my time of devotion. Lysa’s book “The Best Yes” brought so much insight to me on this topic. I have found that when I say “YES” to God’s best for me — regardless of what that is — I can live a less frantic life. Yes, I’m busy. Yes, my time is stretched. Yes, when I look at my calendar and see no white spaces, I may wonder how I will get it all done. BUT, here’s the reality — when I’m living out my passion of saying “YES” to God AND giving Him time, He multiplies my time for me so that I can live among all of my ‘yeses’ and be non-frantic. I have people ask me all the time how I do everything I do. My answer is always the same, “That’s a good question. I really don’t know other than God helps me accomplish what He’s put before me. I told Him I would walk through every door of opportunity He opens for me. I trust Him to walk through them with me and give me the strength to take the next steps.” I can assure you that as you seek Him, He will help you know what to say YES to and what things to say NO to. I know most people think I never say “NO”, but I really have learned to say NO to things that are really good things, but I know God isn’t calling me to them. If you’re frantically walking today and feeling overwhelmed, take a few minutes to pause in His Presence and ask “Am I saying “YES” to things I should say ‘NO’ to?” Then, listen for His reply. As we say yes to those things He’s called us to and say ‘no’ to everything else, we will have peace because He is directing our steps. He will multiply your time too when your activities line up with His Will for your life.
